The process
How we work in Perth: four steps, no waiting list in between
The reason accessibility work drags on is usually the hand-offs - between the assessor, the designer, the quote, and the builder. We removed them. One team does the whole job, so nothing stalls in between.
Initial contact
Click one of our Get a Quote buttons, call us, or email us. We will discuss the problem areas of your home and some approximate pricing to remedy them. Photos are always very handy for this, and can be texted or emailed to us.
Onsite measure up
We come to your home, discuss the problem areas further, measure up, and quote the solution that best suits your budget. It helps to have a budget in mind, so that we can tailor the solution accordingly.
Work commences
Our professional team carries out the prescribed works quickly and diligently, and your safer, more accessible home takes shape.
Work completion
Work is completed and the final inspection is carried out. Handover is done and your life returns to normal, but a much better kind of normal.

Initial contact
Click one of our Get a Quote buttons, call us, or email us. We will discuss the problem areas of your home and some approximate pricing to remedy them. Photos are always very handy for this, and can be texted or emailed to us.
Send us a quote request or call us, whichever suits. You tell us about your home - which room is causing problems, what is getting harder to do, whether you are thinking about one change or a bigger overhaul. We ask about doorway widths, floor types, how the plumbing sits, and whether there are steps to navigate.
From that you will know what is involved in the change you are describing, what range of cost to expect, and whether a site visit makes sense. There is nothing to sign and no obligation at this stage. If we are not the right fit, we will say so and point you somewhere more useful.

Onsite measure up
We come to your home, discuss the problem areas further, measure up, and quote the solution that best suits your budget. It helps to have a budget in mind, so that we can tailor the solution accordingly.
A site visit usually takes between one and two hours, depending on how much of the home we are looking at. We check wall construction so we know what the grab rails are going into, find the floor levels to understand what a level shower entry actually requires, and look at the plumbing positions to see whether the drainage can stay where it is or needs to move.
We measure everything that matters - doorway clearances, turning circles, approach distances for ramps. We look at what is behind the existing fixtures, because the condition of the substrate behind a shower wall is one of the things that moves a job from straightforward to complicated.
After the visit you receive a written scope with a fixed price. Not an estimate or a range - a fixed price for the job as specified. If something we find on site means we would need to change the scope, we talk to you about it before we write the quote, not after you have signed it.

Work commences
Our professional team carries out the prescribed works quickly and diligently, and your safer, more accessible home takes shape.
When work begins, you will have a start date and an end date in writing. We do not start jobs we cannot finish, and we do not move clients to the back of the queue because a more convenient job has come in.
Our own team carries out the work. We do not subcontract the waterproofing to one person and the tiling to another. The team that designed the job is the team doing it, which means they already know where the complications are and how they are supposed to be handled.
We plan the sequence so the rest of the house stays liveable throughout. On a bathroom modification that means you keep a working toilet and a way to wash at every stage of the job. If there is a day when that is not possible - which is rare - we flag it in advance and help you plan around it. We also do a proper tidy-up at the end of each day, because we are working in someone's home, not on a building site.

Work completion
Work is completed and the final inspection is carried out. Handover is done and your life returns to normal, but a much better kind of normal.
Before we leave, we walk through the whole job with you. We show you how everything works - where the drain is, how the fold-down seat locks, how the tapware operates, how to clean the different surfaces. If anything is not quite right we fix it then, not later.
We do a proper clean of the work area. Grout haze off the tiles, tools and materials out, the dust that gets into the hallway during a bathroom job - all of it gone before we shake hands.
You receive any warranty documentation and care notes in writing. If something does come up in the weeks after we finish - a grout line that needs touching up, a rail that needs adjustment - you call us and we come back. That is part of the job.
Why speed matters more than you might think
When the bathroom becomes difficult to use, people start avoiding it. They wash less thoroughly, use aids that are not properly fixed, or ask a family member for help with something they would strongly prefer to manage themselves. Every week the job takes to start is a week of that.
The same applies to a step at the front door, or a grab rail that is not there. Falls often happen at the moments when someone has already identified the risk but is still waiting for the work to be done.
We are not claiming we are instant. A full bathroom modification takes two to four weeks on site, and there is usually a lead time between the site visit and when work can begin. But we do not have an approval queue or an assessment process that runs before the builder is engaged. The design and the build are the same team, so the gap between “we agreed on the job” and “work has started” is as short as it can be.
Single-team accountability
When a project involves an assessment service, a separate designer, and a subcontracted builder, accountability spreads thin. If the modification does not work as expected, each party can point to the other.
We designed it and we built it. If something is not right, there is no one else to blame. That is the right incentive structure for work that matters this much. It also means that when you have a question during the build - about why the drain is positioned where it is, or why we are using one tile rather than another - the person who made that decision is there to explain it.
Most of our clients have not done this before. They do not know what questions to ask or what to look out for. Having one team means there is one conversation, and you can trust that what you hear from us reflects what is actually happening in your home.
The practical bit
What day one looks like, and how we keep things liveable
People often ask what it is actually like to have building work done in an occupied home. Here is the honest version.
Before work begins
We confirm the start date, the expected finish date, and the sequence of work at least a week before we arrive. You know which days we will be in which rooms, and when the water or power will need to be off. No surprises on the morning.
Day one
The team arrives at the agreed time, does a quick walk-through with you to confirm access and answer any last questions, and then gets on with the protection and preparation. We cover walkways, protect floors, and seal off the work area from the rest of the house as best the layout allows.
The noisy and dusty days
Cutting tiles, drilling into masonry, or removing a hob all create noise and dust. We tell you in advance when the worst of it will happen so you can arrange to be out if you prefer. We work to normal hours - there is no early-morning start and no evening finish.
Keeping the toilet and washing available
On any job affecting a single bathroom, we plan the sequence so you retain access to a working toilet at all times. If there is genuinely one bathroom in the house and one day where that is not possible, we will tell you clearly and help you plan around it.
Handover
On the final day we walk through everything with you, show you how to care for the new surfaces, and hand over any written documentation. We do a full clean before we leave. The job is not finished until the room looks as though it has always been there.
After the job
Any touch-ups or adjustments needed in the weeks after completion are part of our responsibility. You call us, we come back. We do not charge for work that is the result of our own installation.
